VERONA, WI

Verona, Wisconsin is a growing, vibrant community with numerous recreational, cultural, and business amenities. Named “Hometown U.S.A.” in 1985, the City offers its residents a small town feel with the benefits of a growing community located close to Madison, Wisconsin, the state’s Capitol. The city has access to both the Military Ridge Bike Trail and National Ice Age Trail, which run through the center of the City. Residents have access to numerous public facilities including: the public library, senior center, park shelters, and swimming beach. Madison’s central business district is just a 20-minute drive via Highway 151 and supports much of the state government institutions, offering residents many employment opportunities. Highway 151 connects Verona with the Madison Beltline system, which facilitates travel throughout the region and connects residents to greater Dane County.

 

In 2018, Verona was named the “Best Place in Wisconsin to Raise a Family” by WalletHub, a finance website based in Washington, DC. The City of Verona approved a $183 million-dollar referendum to build a new high school and make improvements to other district buildings to accommodate growing student enrollment. Enrollment is projected to increase by more than 1,500 additional students by 2030. Ground-breaking for the $150 million dollar school took place on April 24, 2018 and the school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2020 and will be located on the west side of Verona. Verona is also home to Dane County’s largest private sector employer, Epic Systems Corporation, a medical software developer.  Epic currently has over 9,000 employees, with plans to add another 2,000+ jobs over the next five years.
